Glenn Carter will lead the cast of a new production of Rice and Lloyd Webber 1971 rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar.
Cater, whose musical theatre credits include Whistle Down the Wind, Les Misérables, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Godspell and Merrily We Roll Along, has played the role before in the West End, on Broadway and on film.
X Factor runner-up Rhydian Roberts will play Pontius Pilot and X Factor finalist Rachel Adedeji takes the role of Mary Magdalene.
The ground-breaking musical tells the story of the last seven days in the life of Jesus through the eyes of Judas Iscariot. In addition to the title song the score includes "I Don’t Know How to Love Him", "Everything’s Alright" and "Gethsemane".
Jesus Christ Superstar will be directed by Bob Tomson and choreographed by Carole Todd.
The show opens at Bromley's Churchill Theatre on 21 January then tours to:
