Brits in Golden Globes Success

British actors who won awards in the Hollywood Golden Globes Awards 2006for film and television are:

• Best performance by an actress in a supporting role in a motion picture
  Rachel Weisz - The Constant Gardener
• Best performance by an actor in a television series - Drama
  Hugh Laurie - House
• Best performance by an actor in a mini-series or motion picture made for television
  Jonathan Rhys Meyers - Elvis
• Cecil B DeMille award
  Sir Anthony Hopkins

Both Dame Judi Dench (for Mrs Henderson Presents) and Keira Knightley (for Pride and Prejudice) had been nominated in the best actress in a musical or comedy film section, which was won by Reese Witherspoon (for Walk the Line).

The awards are presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
