Dateline: 3rd June, 2007
Trevor Nunn will direct a musical version of Margaret Mitchell's classic novel Gone With the Wind at the New London Theatre in April 2008. Nunn has been workingon the adaptation with composer/lyricist Margaret Martin and Amercian producer Aldo Scrofani for more than three years. He said, "Having now worked on adapting two vast novels for the stage, Nicholas Nickleby and Les Misérables, I am drawn to the challenge of telling Margaret Mitchells epic story through words, music and the imaginative resources of the theatre. The major turning point of American history is conveyed through Mitchells extraordinary cast of characters, black and white, as they pursue their different ideas of the future, and of the past. Neither casting nor precise dates have been announced but tickets are expected to go on sale in September. Please note that all three Archive indices are very long and will therefore take some time to download.
