TV Hunt for Grease Stars Producer David Ian and Simon Cowell are to launch another reality TV show to find the stars for a new West End production of Grease, due to open in summer 2007. The aim will be to find two new stars to play Sandy and Danny, the parts played by Olivia Newton John and John Travolta in the hugely successful film. "Grease is the best musical on the planet," said Cowell." These two parts will be the most sought-after roles in the West End." It is expected that the show, which will be broadcast on ITV1, will follow similar lines to How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria? and the search for stars for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Any Dream Will Do, announced yesterday by Andrew Lloyd Webber and the BBC. The BBC, which already has a similar show Grease: You're The One That I Want! in production in the US, had been hoping to screen a similar show in this country.
