Non-professional comedy acts with five or less years of working are invited to register for the fifth Great Yorkshire Fringe New Comedian of the Year contest in July.
The winner will receive £750, the runner up £500 and the third placed £250.
Participants do not have to hail from Yorkshire and can be stand-up comedians, character acts, musical acts or sketch groups who have five minutes of original material to present.
Stages up to the semi-finals will be held in the redeveloped Yorkshire Herald Press building, with the final taking place at the Grand Opera House. All finalists are entered into the Leicester Square Theatre New Comedian of the Year Semi-Finals in London's West End.
