Dateline: 29th June, 2003 Hall Bath Season Opens Sir Peter Hall's season at the Theatre Royal Bath opened on 25th June with his production of Coward's Design for Living, starring Janie Dee, Hugo Speer and Aden Gillett. Joining it in rep through to 9th August are Betrayal (Harold Pinter), starring the same three actors and directed by Hall, who also directed the first production in 1978, and D.H.Lawrence's The Fight for Barbara, which stars Hall's daughter Rebecca and is directed by Thea Sharrock. This is the first time that Hall has directed a Coward play. Following the rep part of the season, Hall will direct As You Like It (his first production of the play), which will star Rebecca Hall, Eric Sykes and Philip Voss. Manfridi's Cuckoos, also directed by Hall, will tansfer from the Barbican, where it is currently running (see Philip Fisher's review), to play in the theatre's Ustinov Studio from 16th to 16th July. Hall, whose efforts to return repertory to the West End have been unsuccessful, intends to set up a rep company in Kingston-upon-Thames in 2004. Please note that all three Archive indices are very long and will therefore take some time to download.
