Dateline: 5th March, 2006
Hall's Bath Season 2006 The plays in Sir Peter Hall's Bath Theatre Royal repertory season, which runs from 21st June to 2nd Septembe, have been announced. First is Measure for Measure, directed by Hall himself. This will be the first time he has directed the play in the UK. It will star James Laurenson as the Duke, Richard Dormer as Angelo and Andrea Riseborough as Isabella. Measure for Measure runs from 21st June to 12th August and transfers to Stratford as part of the Complete Works festival for six performances only, from 13th to 16th September. On 26th June the second production opens: Strindberg's Miss Julie, directed by Rachel O'Riordan, with Riseborough as Julie and Dormer as the servant Jean. It also runs until 12th August. On 30th June (and running until 12th August), Hall directs Alan Bennett's Habeas Corpus with James Fleet. It is planned that this production will go on a regional tour. Kevin and Trish Rigdon willd esign all three plays. Finally Hall will revive Look Back in Anger (16th August to 2nd September) to celebrate the play's fiftieth anniversary, the only fully staged version of the play in the UK in the anniversary year. It will be directed by Peter Gill and designed by William Dudley. No casting has yet been announced.
