Opening Season at Hampstead

The new Hampstead Theatre, which opens on 13th February, has announced its opening season.

The first production will be a site-specific piece by Station House Opera, How to Behave. A mixture of music, film and live action, the show opens by taking the audience on a tour of the theatre. It will run from 13th to 21st February.

It will be followed (5th March to 19th April, previews from 27th February) by Tim Firth's The Safari Party, which will be directed by Alan Ayckbourn, using the same cast as premiered the play at Scarborough's Stephen Joseph Theatre in April.

Next come two productions, running concurrently: In Arabia, We'd All Be Kings (Stephen Adly Guirgis) and Born Bad by Debbie Turker Green. Running from 25th April to 17th May, they will both be directed by Kathy Burke.

The last play of the season will be U.S. and Them by Tamsin Oglesby, directed by Jennie Darnell (28th May to 28th June, previewing from 22nd May).

In addition, in the Space, an 80-seater studio designed for work with young people and the local community, will host Fragile Land by Tanika Gupta (27th March to 12th April, previewing from 25th March).
