New Hampstead Associate Appointed Edward Hall, the artistic director of Hampstead Theatre, has announced the appointment of Clare Lizzimore as Associate Director of Hampstead Theatre. This new role will play an integral part in the development of Hampstead Theatre's new writing programme. Lizzimore completed her Channel 4 Theatre Directors Award and became director in residence at the Citizens Theatre, Glasgow in 2005/6. The following year she worked as staff director at the Royal National Theatre. She has directed numerous international plays and has travelled extensively for the Royal Court's International Programme. In 2009 she was awarded the Arts Foundation Theatre Directing Fellowship.
She is currently Creative Director of Clean Break Theatre Company, for whom she will curate and direct Charged - a season of six new plays commissioned by Clean Break and to be presented in association with Soho Theatre - in November 2010. This autumn she will also direct Pieces of Vincent, a new play by David Watson, for Pieces Productions in Association with Paines Plough and the Arcola Theatre.
Her directing credits include On The Rocks by Amy Rosenthal in 2008 for Hampstead Theatre.
