The 2020 season at HOME in Manchester features many returning favourites including Hofesh Shechter, Figs in Wigs, Jinkx Monsoon and Peaches Christ.

Three festivals will also showcase new theatre.

The biggest, glitteriest and most glamorous show is Insane Animals (February 28–March 14), a modern mythical musical.

There’s new work from Hofesh Shechter Company with Double Murder (May 13–16), presenting two distinctly contrasting pieces exploring societal schisms and human kinship. There’ll be UK premières of two touring shows, Amsterdam (April 15–18), Matthew Xia’s first production as artistic director of Actors Touring Company, and David Hoyle’s Ten Commandments (April 9). And HOME favourites Figs in Wigs returns with Little Wimmin (March 5–14), a live art feminist adaptation of Louise May Alcott’s novel.

There is an international first as Atresbandes and Bert & Nasi collaborate for the first time with the tale of fictitious artist Patrick Watson It Don’t Worry Me (May 5 & 6), Mind the Gap and Gecko Theatre’s a little space (February 12–15), Ad Infinitum’s Extraordinary Wall of Silence (February 12–22) and Cheryl Martin’s One Woman (July 2–4).

There’s also a host of shows by touring companies, including many returning favourites.
