Haymarket Events

The Theatre Royal Haymarket has announced a new series of Masterclasses and a season of eight of the most exciting contemporary directors currently working in British theatre. Each has chosen a play to explore in this showcase and each play is a British premiere. The season goes under the title New Directions.

    Helen McCrory on the actor's response to the director

    Lynda La Plante on TV and film writing

    John Caird on directing Becket, with members of the company currently playing at the Theatre Royal
  • Tues 30 Nov at 2pm
    Greg Hicks on his approach to creating roles
  • Tues 7 Dec at 2.30pm
    Christopher Hampton on the craft of writer and translator

    Tim Roseman directs A Lifetime of Happiness by Richard Marsh
  • Tues 23 Nov
    Mark Rosenblatt directs Professor Bernhardi by Arthur Schnitzler, in a new adaptation by Samuel Adamson
  • Thurs 25 Nov
    Paul Robinson directs Enigma Variations by Eric Emmanuel Schmitt, in a new adaptation by Jeremy Sams
