Russell Watson: due to play the Voice of God

A Nottingham-based production company behind new musical Heaven on Earth featuring Russell Watson has gone into liquidation.

The touring show, based on the story of Adam and Eve, has been called off. It was due to play five months of arena dates across the UK, starting at the Arena Birmingham from 4 until 7 December and finishing with four nights at the SSE Arena, Wembley in May 2018.

Corporate recovery and business advisory firm Quantuma has been appointed to handle the liquidation of Eden International Productions.

Chris Newell of Quantuma said, “it’s a shame that proposed funding hasn’t come through which has resulted in the need for the company to cease trading.

“However, we’re open to hearing from potential future investors with the aim of resurrecting the show in some capacity.”

The cast of Heaven on Earth had been in rehearsals for nine weeks. It was written by Sara Jeffs and directed and choreographed by Racky Plews.

The producers have yet to make a public statement.
