More than 2,500 people watched Lord of the Flies during its week-long run at The Courtyard, Hereford.

The production, Nigel Williams’s adaptation of William Golding’s novel, featured members of The Courtyard’s youth theatre performing alongside professional actors Jamie Bacon and Stanton Wright.

Lord of the Flies is a GCSE text and schoolchildren from across Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and further afield attended to support their studies. The Courtyard’s education team will visit these schools to provide drama workshops.

David Durant, associate director at The Courtyard, said, “I’m so pleased with the response we’ve had to Lord of the Flies. Our youth theatre members and actors delivered incredible performances.”
