Hofesh Shechter brings his latest work, Grand Finale, to Sadler’s Wells this autumn featuring ten dancers, with designs by Tom Scutt, lighting by Tom Visser and live musicians performing an original score over Shechter’s trademark electronic sounds and vocal chants.

The production will preview at Theatre Royal Plymouth prior to its première at La Villette in Paris in a co-production with Théâtre de la Ville on 14 June 14, followed by an international tour, visiting Sadler’s Wells, HOME Manchester, Brighton Dome & Festival, Colours International Dance Festival Stuttgart, Les Théâtres de la Ville de Luxembourg, Dansens Hus Oslo, Danse Danse Montréal and Brooklyn Academy of Music New York. The tour continues into 2018.

In Grand Finale, Shechter creates a vision of the end of days, capturing this catalytic upheaval at a time of extremes.

The company’s ensemble of dancers come from eight different countries. They are Chien-Ming Chang, Frédéric Despierre, Rachel Fallon, Mickael Frappat, Yeji Kim, Kim Kohlmann, Erion Kruja, Merel Lammers, Attila Ronai, Diogo Sousa and Associate Director Bruno Guillore.

Also in 2017, the company continues its work with choreographers and dancers from East London as part of a 3-year talent development programme culminating in an outdoor performance at the Tower of London in summer 2018.

In 2018, the company relaunches its paid apprentice dancer programme. The company of dancers aged 18-25 will tour the UK and Europe with a double bill of Hofesh’s work.
