Hippoexpert enthusiasts: Mouth of Lions theatre company

London-based company Mouths of Lions will make its Buxton Fringe debut with a “weird and wonderful interactive family show” Dr Zeiffal, Dr Zeigal and the Hippo That Can Never Be Caught.

The production was commissioned for the 2015 Folkestone Living Advent Calendar. Inspired by real-life discoveries of prehistoric hippopotamus bones in the UK, it follows the madcap quest of two “special archaeological scientist hippoexpert enthusiasts” to track down the hippo that can never be caught.

Mouths of Lions says the audience can expect “belly laughs, belly flops, surreal slapstick and fantastical falling over” in this new family comedy.

The company’s artistic director Georgia Murphy has devised and is performing and directing the show. She will be joined by deviser and performer Oliver Weatherly.

Dr Zeiffal, Dr Zeigal and the Hippo That Can Never Be Caught will be staged at Underground Venues on Friday 22 July at 5:45PM and Saturday 23 July at 1:30PM.
