The Ockerbys on Ice

The Lancaster Dukes theatre’s commitment to new drama continues with its first home produced show of the autumn: The Ockerbys On Ice.

Coronation Street writer Debbie Oates returns to the venue with a funny, heart-warming play about an ordinary couple, Viv and Dennis Ockerby, who win a shot at immortality thanks to cryonic freezing.

Performed in The Round, and supported partly through a crowdfunding campaign, The Ockerbys On Ice runs from September 30-October 22.

For Christmas, The Round will be transformed into a toy shop from November 25-January 7, as The Dukes presents its own version of Pinocchio.

There’s more family theatre to enjoy during the autumn season with Michael Morpurgo’s An Elephant In The Garden paying a visit on October 26 and the puppet theatre show Cake on October 29.

Multi-awardwinning comedian, Tim Fitzhigham appears as Will Kempe, Shakespeare’s stand-up, on November 2 and Austentatious improvises a brand new Jane Austen work on November 25.
