Derby Theatre: hosting the new In Good Company assistant producer

Applications are open for an assistant producer for In Good Company, the professional creative and business development programme for Midlands theatre makers.

In Good Company which is led by Derby Theatre is offering a Weston Jerwood bursary as part of its programme to get more people from low socio-economic backgrounds into cultural careers.

The salaried role, based at Derby Theatre, will involve working closely with the creative producer to deliver and review In Good Company’s commissioning and call-out processes; liaising and working with regional artists; and programming festivals, tours and performance platforms.

In Good Company creative producer Ben Anderson said, “this pandemic has exposed disparities more than ever and we have a collective responsibility to emerge better than before. In Good Company continues to lay out a bold vision for the future and I can’t wait to welcome another member of the team who will help us carve out that future, a future that includes a more diverse and inclusive workforce.”

Director of Jerwood Arts Lilli Geissendorfer added, “Derby Theatre applied to be part of the programme before COVID-19 had been identified, so it’s heartening that making their organisation more diverse and inclusive is still high on their agenda despite the additional challenges they’re facing.”

More information and application forms are available at the Derby Theatre web site. The deadline for applications is 5PM on Friday 29 November.
