The organisers of the Exeter Fringe Festival would like to hear from performance artists from a variety of genres to participate in their inaugural event, running for ten days from 26 July.

Participating artists will be offered a performance-based financial arrangement, marketing support, and a technical operator. Applications must be received by 8 March.

For this year's Festival, events are based at Exeter Phoenix and Barnfield Theatre, though it is intended that in future years additional venues and organisations will join, allowing for a longer programme.

Alongside theatre performances, the Festival is to offer family shows and stand up, going part way to fill the gap left by The Bike Shed Theatre when it closed a year go.

Exeter Fringe Festival Directors said, “festivals have always gone down well in Exeter with both artists and audiences. With the recent success of Women of the World Exeter and other similar events, we wanted to create an annual festival that could showcase the amazing talent in Exeter and the South West alongside some of the brilliant work being made elsewhere in the country. We’ve had really engaging conversations with artists and cultural leaders in the city so far and have received a huge level of support and encouragement for the festival to happen.”

Exeter Fringe Festival will run from 26 July to 4 August.
