Swan Lake

World-renowned prima ballerina Irina Kolesnikova will lead St Petersburg Ballet Theatre company in its London run which concludes an international tour of Paris, Singapore, Melbourne and Tokyo, dancing Odette/Odile in Swan Lake and Nikiya in La Bayadère.

Accompanied by a 40-piece orchestra, she will perform alongside international guest stars including Vadim Muntagirov from the Royal Ballet as Prince Siegfried in Swan Lake on 19 & 20 August and Denis Rodkin from the Bolshoi Ballet as Solor in La Bayadère, as well as playing Prince Siegfried in Swan Lake on 17 and 18 August.

Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake tells the timeless love story of Siegfried and Odette, whilst the exotic and mesmerising La Bayadère is a tale of love, murder and vengeful judgment by the gods, set to a lyrical score by Ludwig Minkus.

St Petersburg Ballet Theatre’s Prima Ballerina since 2001, Irina Kolesnikova has toured extensively around the world, beginning her international career in the UK where she won recognition and plaudits for her performances in the Royal Albert Hall.

Vadim Muntagirov is a Principal of The Royal Ballet. He trained at The Royal Ballet School and joined the Company from English National Ballet as a Principal in 2014. His roles there include Basilio (Don Quixote), Prince Siegfried (Swan Lake), Prince Florimund (The Sleeping Beauty), Lensky (Onegin), Des Grieux (Manon), Jack/The Knave of Hearts (Alice's Adventures in Wonderland), Florizel (The Winter's Tale) and in Symphonic Variations.

Denis Rodkin is a Leading Soloist at the Bolshoi Ballet, where he has played lead roles in Spartacus, Anyuta, Swan Lake and Don Quixote.

Further international star performers to be announced.
