Seeing double: Persuasion Transposed

Nonesuch Theatre Company’s latest production, Persuasion Transposed, will play five dates at Buxton Fringe.

There are two Anne Elliots in Ray Sutton’s reworking of Jane Austen’s Persuasion. The two Annes, aged 19 and 27, bicker about blame and disappointment and dip into despair. But it will be a romance with a happy ending—unless some realities of Georgian life raise their ugly heads.

Persuasion Transposed can be seen at Buxton Community School Drama Studio, Water Street from Wednesday 12 until Friday 14 July at 7:30PM and Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 July, at 2PM.
