Smasher: Joe Pasquale breaks panto box-office records

Comedian, television presenter and all-round entertainer Joe Pasquale will play Smee in Northampton Royal and Derngate’s 2014 panto Peter Pan.

Pasquale has been delighting audiences for more than 20 years. He has appeared in five Royal Variety performances, been crowned king of the jungle in I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! and learned to skate for ITV’s Dancing on Ice.

Michael Harrison, managing director of Qdos Entertainment’s pantomime division and executive producer of Peter Pan, said, “we’re thrilled that Joe Pasquale, who’s smashed pantomime box office records wherever he’s performed, will be leading the cast of Royal and Derngate’s panto.

“Joe’s high-energy comedy along with a superb cast mean that audiences will be hooked during this production. It will be without doubt one of the most impressive pantos ever staged in Northampton.”

Martin Sutherland, Royal and Derngate’s chief executive, added, “we’re delighted to have Joe coming to Northampton this Christmas. Peter Pan promises to be a real treat for all ages, with fun for all the family.”

Peter Pan runs on the Derngate stage from Friday 5 December until Sunday 4 January 2015.
