Best Arts and Business Partnership (sponsored by North East England Chamber of Commerce)
Sunderland 10 x 10, linking artists and businesses across the city. -
Best Event Sunderland
Asunder, a film and live music event commemorating the Battle of the Somme. -
Newcomer of the Year (University of Sunderland)
Dean Bone, actor, for The Savage and The Terminal Velocity of Snowflakes, both at Live Theatre. -
Best Event Durham
Kynren – An Epic Tale of England, at Bishop Auckland. -
Writer of the Year
Alison Carr for the play Iris at Live Theatre. -
Best Event Tyneside
The Late Shows, managed by Tyne and Wear Archives and Museums. -
Performance of the Year (Barbour)
Putting the Band Back Together, a show by Unfolding Theatre, inspired by the late North East actor Mark Lloyd who put his band back together after a diagnosis of terminal cancer.

The winners were announced at a ceremony compèred by actor Chris Connel (The Pitmen Painters, Wet House) at Hexham Abbey on the evening of Thursday 11 May 2017.
