Julie Ege (1943 - 2008) Norwegian-born actress Julie Ege, who appeared in many British films in the 60s and 70s has died at the age of 64 from cancer. Starting out as a model and beauty competition winner, after appearing in the Norwegian film Stompa til Sjøs! in 1967, she was cast in the Bond movie On Her Majesty's Secret Service in 1969. She then went on to appear in a number of comedies and Hammer Horror films, including Up Pompeii, The Magnificent Seven Deadly Sins, Not Now Darling, Percy's Progress and The Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires. Her first leading role was as the au pair in the comedy Every Home Should Have One. Her last British film was The Amorous Milkman (1975), although she went on to make films and TV series in Norway until 1998. In that year she completed a three year nursing coursein Norway and worked in a hospital in Oslo. She dies on 29th April.
