Second Tour for KAOS Dream

KAOS Theatre Company is to tour The KAOS Dream for a second time. Described as "a lasciviously twisted, physical-fuelled contemporary adaptation of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream", it opens at the Harrogate Theatre on 5th February and visits a further six venues until 1st March.

The KAOS Dream sets Shakespeare’s fantastical story in an urban underworld of strip-clubs, pimps and pole-dancers, where a drug-peddling Puck ensures that the ‘course of true love never (will) run smooth’. Artistic director Xavier Leret’s production strips down the textand presents ninety minutes of striking physical theatre, dark humour, cabaret and an original jazz score performed live on stage.

The KAOS Dream premiered at Poole Lighthouse Centre for the Arts in September 2007, and tooured to seven UK venues where it received high critical acclaim.

The production is directed by Xavier Leret with original music composed by Jules Bushell, set design by Sarah Blenkinsop, lighting by Hansjorg Schmidt and costume design by Lieutske Visser. The cast includes Mat Fraser (Thalidomide! A Musical) as Puck, Erica Roberts as Helena, Ralf Higgins as Demetrius/Bottom, Nicholas Chambers as Lysander/Titania/Quince, Tina Barnes as Hermia/Snug and Serge Soric as Oberon/Theseus, Jules Bushell as Egeus/ Philostrate/Fairy.
