After producing two popular shows in the last two years (The Owl and the Pussycat and The Tin Foil Astronaut), North East children’s theatre company Kitchen Zoo returns with a special Christmas play for the under-5s, The Three Beers at Christmas.

Deep in the snowy forest, Mammy, Daddy and Baby Bear are preparing for winter. Each day the Three Bears head off into the woods to collect interesting things they can re-use for their house.

As Christmas arrives, their cosy home is turned upside down by a colourful whirlwind that threatens to knock over their Christmas tree, eat their Christmas puddings and fall asleep in their beds—it’s Goldilocks!

This Christmas version of a favourite tale comes to Newcastle’s Northern Stage (Stage 3) from 27 November 2018 to 5 January 2019. The show runs for 45 minutes and times vary, but already most of the pre-Christmas shows are sold out. Booking can be made on the Northern Stage web site.

The show is created by performers Hannah Goudie-Hunter and Bob Nicholson with director Brad McCormick of Cap-a-Pie. The rest of the creative team are regular collaborators Jeremy Bradfield (composition and sound design), Alison Ashton (set and costume designer), Ailsa Dalling (puppets) and Aimee Liversidge (graphics).
