School children from Greater Manchester have created a ‘botanical laboratory’ at the Royal Exchange to complement the theatre’s Christmas production of Little Shop Of Horrors.

Don’t Feed The Plants! is a free exhibition staged in The Lounge (off the Great Hall foyer of the Royal Exchange) and features models of weird and wonderful plants created by local students as part of a collaborative, school-led project inspired by the show.

Teachers and pupils worked with professional artist Diane Pagan to design plants that are dark, deadly and full of personality. Some exhibits have also been selected to appear on stage as part of the production.

The production and the exhibition both run to January 31.
