Dateline: 16th March, 2003 The Best of British in Leipzig Five British plays have been featured in the Leipzig Schauspielhaus this week, representing , according to the British Council, the best of modern British theatre. Two are from England and three from Scotland. Alan Ayckbourn's double bill House and Garden is played, as at the National, back to back in two auditoria. Like House, the second English play, Martin Crimp's In the Country, is a Schauspielhaus production. The three Scottish plays are Gregory Burke's Gagarin Way, Rona Munro's Iron and Henry Adam's Among Unbroken Hearts. Significantly all three Scottish plays premiered at Edinburgh's Traverse Theatre.
