British actresses' Golden Globe success
British actresses dominated the actresses section of the Golden Globes Awards last week, with Judi Dench winning in the Best Actress category for Last of the Blonde Bombshells and Vanessa Redgrave taking the honours in the Best Supporting Actress in a TV Series or Film for TV category for If These Walls Could Talk 2.
This is Dame Judi's second Goldon Globe. She first won in 1998 (for Mrs Brown).
Spotlight, the UK's major casting directory (which is available in book form and CD-ROM, as well as on the Web) has introduced a new service to help casting directors and agents work more quickly. Working from the Sptolight Website, casting directors use a personalisable template to list their requirements, and this is automatically emailed to agents. When the agent opens the email, his/her clients who are in Spotlight are immediately listed on-screen and all the agent has to do is click on a box beside the names of those (s)he is submitting. After confirmation, the list is immediately email back to the casting director.
When the casting director receives an email, clicking on a name will immediately bring up pictures, CVs and audioclips (where available).
