Citz spring season safe
Glasgow Citizens Theatre's spring season for 2000 has been guaranteed, after four years of uncertainty, by a one-off grant of £150,000 from Glasgow City Council. This grant, along with the theatre's normal grant of £425,000 and its Scottish Arts Council award of £645,000, means that the year 2000 will see a full programme of spring and autumn seasons and a panto.
WMA cash crisis
"Raids" on Lottery funds by government and changes to the way Lottery money is handed out have left West Midlands Arts with a £6m shortfall for capital projects, which means that only a quarter of applications for grants will be able to be met.
