Ex-manager Sues Flatley

Michael Flatley, star of Riverdance and Lord of the Dance is being sued for £10m by former manager John Reid for breach of contract and loss of earnings. He is countersuing for deceit. Flatley is also suing his former solicitors for professional negligence. The Reid/Flatley case began on Thursday (1st October) and is expected to last for five weeks.

Blue Room May Transfer to NY

David Hare's new play, The Blue Room which is based on La Ronde, may transfer to New York's Cort Theatre when its run at the Donmar Warehouse ends on 31st October. It is understood that no definite plans will be made until the New York Times<.cite> critic sees and reviews the show.

The play is a two-hander, with Nicole Kidman and Iain Glen, who each play a number of parts. This is Kidman's West End debut. Although able to command millions for film appearances, she is receiving the standard Equity wage of £250 a week for her appearance.
