One Fringe hit replaces another at the Whitehall
One of the hits of last year's Edinburgh Fringe, Cooking with Elvis, currently playing at the Whitehall, is to end on 16th September, even though, just days ago, it was announced that it would run until 21st October with a new cast.

It is to be replaced by a hit from this year's Fringe, Puppetry of the Penis, in which two men manipulate their genitals into different shapes. One of the oddball sows that the Edinburgh Fringe throws up occasionally, became so popular that extra performances had to be arranged during the last week to satisfy the demand for tckets.

The Blue Room returns to the West End
David Hare's The Blue Room, with which Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman had such success two year's ago in Sam Mendes' production, is to return to the West End on 2nd October for an eight-week season at the Theatre Royal, Haymarket.

This is a new production, which has been playing at Chichester's Minerva Theatre to packed houses, and stars Camilla Power and Michael Higgs.

The play will preview from 28th September.

Pageant to close
The musical comedy Pageant (Vaudeville) is to close on 30th September, although it has been booking until the end of November.
