Pajama Game to close early
Simon Callow's production of The Pajama Game at the Victoria Palace is to close on 18th December, in spite of denials last week that closure was on the cards. The show received bad reviews when it opened.
Bridewell hosts musical UK premiere
The Broadway musical On a Clear Day You Can See Forever will receive its UK premiere at London Fringe venue, the Bridewell Theatre, next year, 35 years after it played Broadway and 30 years after it was made into a Hollywood film with Barbara Streisand and Yves Montand. The show opens on 10th January (previewing from 7th) and will run until 12th February.
Lady earns massive advance
Alan Bennett's Lady in the Van has taken £750,000 in advance bookings.
Lucy Arnaz for Drury Lane
Lucy Arnaz, daughter of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, will appear in the London production of The Witches of Eastwick, due to open at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, on 13th June, according to the New York Daily News.
Closer returns to the National
Patrick Marber's Closer, in a new production, will play the Lyttleton for short run of thirteen performances, beginning on 20th December. The previous award-winning production, which opened at the Cottesloe in 1997, was directed by Marber himself.
Krapp's Last Tape returns to London
After its successful run at the Barbican in September, Beckett's Krapp's Last Tape, starring John Hurt, is to play the New Ambassadors from 25th January to 11th March,
