The Red Shoes for the stage
Birmingham Rep and the Birmingham Royal Ballet are to collaborate on the first-ever stage version of the classic dance film The Red Shoes. Directed by Rep Artistic Director Bill Alexander and choreographed by BRB's David Bintley, the show will open at the Rep in April 2001, after which it is hoped it will go on a national tour.
West End premiere for Baby Doll
Tennessee Williams' play Baby Doll is to get its West End premiere in 2000 at the Lyttleton when the joint RNT/Birmingham Rep. production which opened in Birmingham in October, transfers to the National on 7th March (previews from 3rd March).
New Art cast in February
A new cast for Yasmina Reza's Art takes over at the Wyndhams on 1st February for a twelve week run. The new cast will be Stephen Tompkinson (Drop the Dead Donkey, Ballykissangel and Grafters), Michael French (EastEnders and Holby City), and James Fleet (Four Weddings and a Funeral and The Vicar of Dibley).
