Lichfield Garrick appoints new management team

Chris Moore and Tim Ford will lead Lichfield Garrick after the departure of current chief executive and artistic director Adrian Jackson in May 2015.

Executive director Chris Moore has been at the Garrick since 2006. He has held the position of director of operations and marketing for the past two years, leading many of the structural changes that have taken place at the Staffordshire venue.

New artistic director Tim Ford, who is originally from Lichfield, is currently associate director of Reading Repertory Theatre. Previously he was associate director at Leicester’s Curve Theatre and held director roles at the Nuffield Theatre, Southampton, Birmingham REP and the Point Theatre, Eastleigh.

Chris Moore said, “I’m very pleased to have been appointed to this new role and look forward to working closely with Tim, who has a wealth of knowledge and more than 20 years’ experience in the theatre industry. I’m excited for the future of Lichfield Garrick and proud to be working in an amazing venue with such a passionate team.”

James Leavesley, chairman of the Garrick’s board of trustees, added, “I’m delighted to welcome Chris to his new role and Tim who will be joining the team at the Garrick soon. The management and artistic diversity of the theatre is in very safe hands.

“Tim’s vision for the future will ensure our audiences continue to enjoy high-quality entertainment, and he’ll develop further the range of work presented, ensuring that community participation and audience growth remain at the top of our agenda.”

Tim Ford says, “It’s fantastic to be returning to my home city and I’m incredibly proud to be joining the exceptionally talented team at the Garrick.”

As previously announced, Adrian Jackson is to become chief executive of Wolverhampton Grand Theatre.
