Tara Tour Ramayana Family Show

Tara Arts is to tour When the Lights Went Out, the story of Divali, directed by Jatinder Verma, from October to December.

Based on the Indian epic The Ramayana, When The Lights Went Out presents, for children and families, the story of the darkening of the Sun and how light was returned to the Earth. The legendary lovers, Sita and Rama, are separated when Sita is stolen away by the ten-headed demon Ravana, who cannot bear daylight. How the lovers are reunited when Rama and his monkey-god ally, Hanuman, wage battle against Ravana forms the basis of this tale.

Utilising scarves, masks, dance and song to illustrate their story, two maidservants of the kidnapped Princess Sita enthral the audience with this epic tale of Love and Loss and the ultimate triumph of Good over Evil.
