The Lion King: Record Gross in 2010 Disney's The Lion King, now in its eleventh year and the nineth longest-running musical in West End history, grossed £34 million in 2010 (an increase of £2 million on the previous year) - the highest annual box office of any show in West End history. It was seen by over 820,000 people in 2010. The final week of the year (27th December, 2010, to 2nd January, 2011) also saw the highest weekly attendance and box office gross in the shows history, with 18,959 people seeing the show across nine-performances. Over 9 million people have now seen the show at the Lyceum Theatre and its seventeen productions in thirteen different countries on five continents have been seen by more than 54 million people, and grossed over £2.7 billion to date.
