Live Lab

10 Minutes to... is a short play project from Live Theatre’s Live Lab in which writers are invited to submit plays that respond to a specific theme. A selection from these plays are chosen to be produced, rehearsed and performed over one weekend.

The latest 10 Minutes to… project is for plays that respond to the theme "Reach Inside". Writers are encouraged to interpret that theme in any way that ignites their imaginations.

Six plays will be chosen for performance and the six writers will be matched with six directors and they will then work together over one intensive weekend to rehearse and perform the play. The rehearsal weekend will take place on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 May with the public performance taking place in the evening of Sunday 28 May at 8PM.

Submission guidelines

  • Plays must be no longer than 10 minutes
  • Plays must have no more than 4 characters
  • Be able to be performed with minimal staging and technical support
  • Plays must be original in content
  • Writers must be available for rehearsal and performance dates

The deadline for submissions is Thursday 27 April at midday. Submissions must be made by e-mail to [email protected].
