New in Liverpool

Liverpool's Everyman and Playhouse theatres have announced further productions in its programme during the Liverpool 08 celebrations.

Liverpool poet Roger McGough has adapted Molière's Tartuffe for the Playhouse, which will be directed in May by Gemma Bodinetz. There will be two other world premieres at the Everyman with new play Ten Tiny Toes, an account of mothers and families directly affected by a distant war, by Esther Wilson and Phil Willmott's musical celebration of a famous Liverpool Hotel in Once Upon A time At The Adelphi.

Visiting companies to the Everyman include Reject's Revenge and Spike Theatre with Hoof!, Hugh Hughes and Hoipolloi with The Story of a Rabbit and Yellow Earth Theatre and Beijing Opera Theatre with Running the Silk Road. At the Playhouse, Watermill Theatre will perform London Assurance by Dion Boucicault and Daniel Kitson will perform is new show The Impotent Fury of the Privileged.

New writing festival Everyword will feature workshops from top writers and companies including Simon Stephens, Jonathan Harvey, Moira Buffini, Tim Firth, The Miniaturists and Paines Plough.

Tickets will be on sale for the new season on Monday 3 March.
