Roger Lloyd Pack

Lloyd Pack - First Dame of the Barbican

Roger Lloyd Pack is to play Sarah the Cook in the Barbican's first ever pantomime, Dick Whittington and His Cat. The show, written by Mark Ravenhill best known as one of the first "in-yer-face" playwrights, will be directed by Edward Hall and will have songs by Jim Bob, Kit Hesketh Harvey, Issy Van Randwyck and Dillie Keane.

Also in the cast is Sam Kelly as Alderman Fitzwarren. This will be Kelly's second panto, having appeared in Aladdin at the Old Vic in 2004 alongside Ian McKellen.

This will be Lloyd Pack's first panto but he admits to wanting to play Dame for some time. “I’ve always wanted to play a Dame, and when I read the script I knew that Sarah the Cook was the girl for me,” he said.

The panto runs at the Barbican from 29th November to 20th January.
