Lou Gish (1970 - 2006) Actress Lou Gish has died at the age of 35. She had been suffering from cancer. Her death comes less than a year after that of her mother Sheila Gish, also from cancer. Although born into a theatrical family - her father is Roland Curram and her step-father Denis Lawson - she initially intended to be a visual artist and took a degree at the Samberwell School of Art. However, after appearing in a play on the London fringe, she moved into acting, initially under the name Lou Curram. Theatre credits include The Lawyer in Tejas Verdes (The Gate), Theatre Café (Arcola), Duchess in The Duchess of Malfi (Salisbury Playhouse), Helena in Look Back in Anger (Bristol Old Vic), Ann in Little Malcolm and His Struggle Against the Eunuchs (Hampstead Theatre and Comedy Theatre, West End), Marge in The Talented Mr Ripley (Palace, Watford), Vivien in Marlene (tour and West End), Helen Carver in Design for Living (Donmar and Gielgud Theatre) and, most recently, as Goneril in King Lear at Chichester. Television credits include EastEnders, New Tricks, Casualty, The Playground, Doctors, Wire in the Blood, The Vice, Shadow Play, Coupling, Without Motive, Hope and Glory, Microsoap, Holding the Baby and Game On.
