An “edge-of-your-seat thriller” by the UK’s greatest crime writer is reimagined in a new production Love From a Stranger which opens at Northampton’s Royal and Derngate before going on a national tour.

Agatha Christie and Frank Vosper’s thriller features Cecily Harrington being swept off her feet by a handsome, charming stranger. She abandons her old life to settle in the remote and blissful surroundings of a country cottage. But her newfound love is not all he seems...

Helen Bradbury plays Cecily and the rest of the cast comprises Justin Avoth (Nigel Lawrence), Sam Frenchum (Bruce Lovell), Alice Haig (Mavis Wilson), Molly Logan (Ethel), Crispin Redman (Dr Gribble), Nicola Sanderson (Louise Garrard) and Gareth Williams (Hodgson).

Director is Lucy Bailey who directed Patrick Hamilton’s Gaslight on the Northampton Royal stage in 2015. Set and costume design is by Mike Britton whose credits in Northampton include Mike Poulton’s adaptation of Charles Dickens’s A Tale of Two Cities in 2016. Lighting design is by Oliver Fenwick while Richard Hammarton looks after sound design and composition.

Presented in association with Fiery Angel, Love From a Stranger takes to the Northampton Royal stage from Friday 23 February until Saturday 17 March.
