Lunchtime Theatre in Swansea

The Fluellen Theatre Company, in association with Swansea's Grand Theatre, is to present its third season of Saturday lunchtime productions in the venue's Arts Wing Studio. Each play lasts for - at most - one hour and starts at 12.30. Food and drink are available at the bar and, on presentation of a tciket, £1 will be deducted from the cost of any meal on the theatre's main menu.

Tickets are £5 (£4 concessions).

The Plays

9th & 16th May
CCTV
By Derek Webb
It is, it seems, an ordinary evening in the security control room of the Oaks Shopping Centre. Ordinary, that is, until the arrival of Keith, a robber of quite breathtaking incompetence, who is attempting the heist of the century. Great comedy from Derek Webb.

23rd & 30th May
To a Sunless Sea
By Daniel McGowan
In 2000, the Russian nuclear submarine KURSK sank whilst on an exercise in the Barents Sea. At first the Russian authorities declined all help from the West to rescue the crew. By the time they agreed, it was too late. In this new play, we experience the plight of the submariners below the surface as well as the political and moral turmoil above.

6th & 13th June
What a Racket!
By Ray Williams
The gang is back! The members of the Free Wales Army (Clydach branch) who delighted audiences in Grand Lunchtime Theatre`s Dai the Spy return to the stage for this new prequel. In the latest instalment of life in 1960s Clydach as it never was, gravedigger Do unearths something of great interest; something that Delora, Evan and Sam can use to gain the upper hand in their never-ending battles with the terminally stupid local copper, Sergeant Price.
