Lynne Perrie (1931 - 2006) Actress Lynne Perrie, who played Ivy Tisley in Coronation Street from 1971 to 1994, has died of a stroke at the age of 75, her brother, actor and comedian Duggie Brown, has announced. She began her career in variety under the name of Dizzy but gave that up to support her children, become a bus conductress and a factory worker before returning to the variety scene in 1956 and in the early sixties toured as a support for, among others, The Beatles and Sasha Distel. In 1970 she appeared in the film Kes, his first breakthrough, and later went on to appear in the Diana Dors sitcom Queenie's Castle. She wrote a best-selling book Secrets of the Street - the book they could not BAN!, which also dealt with her alcoholism. She died on Friday night with her husband and son at her side.
