The Manchester Project from Monkeywood Theatre

Manchester’s award-winning Monkeywood Theatre lands at HOME with the world première of a unique new show, The Manchester Project, which creates ‘a theatrical map’ of the city.

Specially commissioned for HOME’s PUSH festival, it is a collection of 19 brand new ‘tiny but titanic’ new plays from Mancunian writers, exploring the city and its people.

The plays take in Moss Side to Middleton, Flixton to Failsworth, Droylsden to Didsbury and ask what does it really mean to be part of this city?

The writers include regular TV writers Ian Kershaw, Furquan Akhtar, Becky Prestwich, Sarah McDonald Hughes and Lindsay Williams as well as award-winning theatre writers Curtis Cole, Andy Sheridan and Eve Steele, amongst others.

The plays will be performed by a cast of local actors on January 13 and 27 and as pop-up performances throughout PUSH.
