Johnson to Replace Masterson Guy Masterson talks to the BTGTerry Johnson has replaced Guy Masterson as director of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest which will play at Edinburgh's Assembly Rooms throughout the Fringe before going on to the West End's Gielgud Theatre. "I know of Terry's work," Masterson told the BTG, "and am of course extraordinarily pleased that he was able to come in at such short and unexpected notice. "Obviously Edinburgh audiences are expecting my work - clarity, simplicity, power - an actor driven play," he added. "I am aware that some key directorial choices that I made for the show have been radically altered and his entire approach appears to be very different. Thus, the work that Edinburgh audiences will see will definitely not be mine - even though it has my name all over it. Naturally, I will be as excited and intrigued to see what he is able to make of my extraordinary cast and play as they will! "A combination of home stresses, overwork and production stresses led to my belief that I could not bring this production in without compromise. My decision to leave the production was not taken lightly. It was like giving up my baby for adoption. I need time away to recover physically and emotionally." He will be in Edinburgh for his single performance of his classic one-man production of Animal Farm on 16th August, a show so popular it is sure to sell out. Please note that all three Archive indices are very long and will therefore take some time to download.
