Dateline: 3rd June, 2007
The Menier Chocolate Factory is to stage the first London revival of Patrick Marber's Dealer's Choice. Actor-director Samuel West, who has recently stepped down as artistic director of Sheffield Crucible and is currently appearing in the Donmar Warehouse production of Pinters Betrayal, will direct. His directing work includes Romans In Britain (Sheffield), Three Women and a Piano Tuner (Hampstead Theatre), Cosi Fan Tutte (ENO at the Barbican), Les Liaisons Dangereuses (Bristol Old Vic) and The Ladys Not for Burning (Minerva Chichester). Dealers Choice opened at the National Theatre in 1995 and then transferred to the Vaudeville Theatre in the West End. It received the 1995 Evening Standard Award for Best Comedy and the Writers Guild Award for Best West End Play. Dealer's Choice opens on 3rd October at 8pm (previews from 27th September) and runs until 17th November. Please note that all three Archive indices are very long and will therefore take some time to download.
