Merry Wives the Musical Casting Casting has been announced for the Royal Shakespeare Company's new musical version of The Merry Wives of Windsor. Judi Dench plays Mistress Quickly and Desmond Barrit Falstaff, and they will be joined by Hadyn Gwynne as Mistress Page, Alexandra Gill as Mistress Ford, Scarlett Strallen, as Anne Pageand impressionist Alistair McGowan as Frank Ford. The play is directed by Greg Doran and has music by Paul Englishby, with lyrics by Ranjit Bolt. It runs from 12th December (previews from 2nd) until 10th January in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford. According to The Dauly Mail Cameron Mackintosh has expressed interest in taking the production into the West End.
