Dateline: 10th September, 2002 Michael Elphick Dies Actor Michael Elphick has died, aged 55. He collapsed at his north west London home on Saturday and was rushed to hospital, where he later died. Best known for the TV series Boon, he also appeared in Private Schultz, which was his first big break in television (1981), Harry, and, more recently, EastEnders. He had wanted to be an actor from the age of 10 and trained at the Central School. For much of his career he suffered from alcoholism and six years ago his long-time partner Julia Alexander died of cancer.
