Outside The Box, a “pithy commentary on the funeral industry”, asks audiences to look on the bright side of life in the Studio at Cheltenham’s Everyman Theatre on Monday and Tuesday while on the main stage Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran’s jukebox musical Dreamboats and Petticoats remembers the 1960s from Monday until Saturday.

Mischief Theatre’s The Play That Goes Wrong returns to Wolverhampton Grand from Monday until Saturday.

Bill Kenwright’s new production of the timeless story of love, despair and hope Ghost the Musical, with Carolyn Maitland as Molly and Andy Moss as Sam, makes an appearance at Malvern Theatres from Monday until Saturday.

Neil Duffield’s adaptation of E M Forster’s chilling short story The Machine Stops “explores our increasingly intricate and complex relationship with technology” in the B2 auditorium at the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry from Tuesday until Saturday while on the main stage the European première of the off-Broadway musical by Kirsten Childs, The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin, runs from Wednesday until Saturday 15 April.

The National Theatre production of Simon Stephens’s adaptation of Mark Haddon’s novel The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time visits the Theatre Royal, Nottingham from Tuesday until Saturday 15 April.

The Original Theatre Company production of Torben Betts’s Invincible stops off at the New Vic, Newcastle-under-Lyme from Tuesday until Saturday 15 April.

Nottingham-based 2Magpies Theatre’s Ventoux, the story of a drug-fuelled race between Lance Armstrong and Marco Pantani, pedals into The Theatre, Chipping Norton on Wednesday.

European Arts Company takes Chekhov’s Shorts, a “hugely entertaining collection of classic one-act farces” by Anton Chekhov including The Evils of Tobacco, The Dimwit, The Bear, Swan Song and The Proposal, to the Pavilion Arts Centre Studio Theatre, Buxton on Thursday.

China Plate presents four plays in the First Bite Festival: Susie Sillett’s The Cost of Money, Maison Foo’s The Interlude, Suffering by Mooville Theatre CIC and The Bone Ensemble’s Chocolate—The Cabaret! in the Studio at Derby Theatre on Friday.

The world premiere of One Love: The Bob Marley Musical continues at Birmingham REP until Saturday 15 April while in the Studio a new play by Mike Kenny based on the best-selling picture books created by Valerie Thomas and Korky Paul, Winnie and Wilbur continues until Saturday 22 April.

Lewis Smallman from West Bromwich shares the role of Billy in Billy Elliot the Musical which continues at Birmingham Hippodrome until Saturday 6 May.

At the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford, the Rome season is underway in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre with Julius Caesar which continues until Saturday 9 September and Antony and Cleopatra which continues until Thursday 7 September while in the Swan Theatre Richard Bean’s new comedy The Hypocrite featuring Caroline Quentin and Mark Addy continues until Saturday 29 April.
