Midsummer Madness!

Midsummer Madness: The 6th Circus Space Festival 2003
The Circus Space, Coronet Street, London N1 6HD
18th - 22nd June 2003

Festivities are afoot in June at The Circus Space's 6th Festival, with performances from the circus degree ensemble production choreographed by Lea Anderson, complemented by clown shows, walkabouts and a Circus Space Cabaret to form a week long celebration of circus.

Top UK choreographer Lea Anderson (founder of The Cholmondeleys and The Featherstonehaughs) will be presenting the fruits of her nine month long immersion in the world of circus arts through an ensemble performance (Wednesday 18th - Saturday 21st June 2003, created using the talents of the 19 students of the 2003 graduating class of our BA(Hons) Theatre Practice - Circus Degree course. Lea dissects the idea of the circus "number" and explores the possibilities that are offered once it is taken apart, scrambled up and put back together again.

Midsummer Madness focuses on Sunday 22nd June 2003, with The Circus Space, thanks to the support of UBS Investment Bank, presenting a range of entertainment for the local community. Including walkabout entertainers, free clown shows and a grand finale of a Circus Space Cabaret, with 150 free tickets available to residents of the Shoreditch Our Way area for the evening. There will also be presentations by our BA students and local youth circuses. See www.thecircusspace.co.uk for a full event guide.

All performances will be at The Circus Space in Coronet Street, Hoxton, London, N1 (Tube: Old Street Tube, Northern Line, City Branch). The Circus Space, a registered charity, is committed to enabling the creation of a breadth of excellent and innovative contemporary circus. The Circus Space is supported by Arts Council England.
